The problems of colour correction in the assay of urinary 17-ketosteroids by the Callow-Zimmermann method are critically considered. Details are given of a novel method of deriving correction formulae for two pairs of light filters commonly employed in routine 17-ketosteroid assay. The use of these formulae is illustrated by their application to assays of normal and of pathological urines.
