1. Progesterone has been administered intraperitoneally to adult male rats. Examination of absorption spectra of material dissolved in sulphuric acid and the application of a sensitive quantitative method of measurement failed to show the presence of 5β-pregnane-3α:20α-diol in the pooled urine.
2. A modification of the pregnanediol method failed to reveal the presence of 5α-pregnane-3α:20α-diol.
